The Official Affiliated Competition of the Mundial de Baile de Tango de Buenos Aires presents the second edition of EUROPEAN TANGO CHAMPIONSHIP & FESTIVAL
6 days of workshops + 6 nights of milonga with the best DJs + 6 days of no-stop práctica + tango shows + performances + cultural exhibitions and much more…

THE COMPETITION

The Official Affiliated Competition of the Mundial de Tango de Buenos Aires
The best tango couples from all European countries will compete to get the European Title in Tango Salón and Tango Escenario categories.
The EUROPEAN TANGO CHAMPIONSHIP will grant a unique chance: the two winning couples have the right to participate directly to the Finals of the Mundial of Buenos Aires.

The competition will consist of two categories of Tango Salón and Tango Escenario and will strictly follow the rules dictated by the Mundial de Baile de Buenos Aires rules, which are published on the Festival’s website.

The competition is open to every level professionals and amateurs.

THE FINAL
The Tango Salón and Tango Escenario finals will take place in a show in the theatre, Saturday the 2nd of July.

THE FESTIVAL

• Opening: Sunday 26th of June 2011, open-air milonga in one of the more impressive locations of the city with exhibitions by all the tango schools in Turin.
• Tango Show: Tango Show in the teathre for the finals of the Championship with guests, performances, Orquesta and other surprises!
• Show ‘Tango Adentro’ by Sonia Belforte, Thursday 30th  of June
• Workshop e Masterclass: a unique opportunity to participate to seminars and thematic lessons from great masters’ invited for the Festival who will also be the jurors of the competition.
• Milonga: 6 nights of milonga with the best DJs, from Tuesday to Sunday in the main venue of the Festival and in other fascinating locations of the city.
• Pre -Milonga: No-stop dance, from Tuesday to Sunday from 5:00 PM to 07:00 AM in a dedicated hall of the location. A space for everybody, where you can practice, training, perform, meet, look, listen…
• After-Milonga: Friday 1st and Saturday th 2nd chance for no-stop dancing, after the milonga night, from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM,  in a dedicated hall of the location
• Práctica: every day, from 20:00 to 21:30, there will be practica by numerous masters, of Italian and/or Turin Tango scene..

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Many cultural activities will also enrich the Festival programme presenting the historical, social and cultural context of tango and its traditions. Specifically there will be photographic exhibitions, Argentine film review, cultural exhibitions, thematic conferences, books presentations, traditional argentinean food and wine tasting and much more.
